Recognition Day
Monday, 23rd March 2009Today, I attended the recognition day of my only child. The event, which started 8:00 am, was held in San Isidro Parish Church. The assembly began at 7:30 in the morning. There was a Eucharistic Celebration led by Msgr. Severino O. Lorica. After the mass was the recognition program. As usual, the Philippine National Anthem was the first in the program followed by the Words of Welcome by the Grade Five First Honor. There was also an Inspirational Talk delivered by the SICS Alumnus Batch ‘81 then the Awarding of Certificates and Medals. Words of Thanks was given by their Third Year First Honor. The program ended with the SICS Alma Mater Song “The Harvest is Great” which was sung and interpreted by the San Isidro Catholic School awardees.
It was a tiring day for me since I had to wake up at 5 in the morning (I was able to sleep at 3:00 am) to prepare breakfast for my daughter. Our car was also not available today so we waited for a taxi cab. I was surprised we got one immediately since it was a rush hour.
The program was also a little boring for me. It was just a normal “calling the name and get your award on stage” program. The recognition day was from the Pre-School Department up to the High School Department so we have to sit there for a few hours waiting for the program to finish. I was really sleepy and I can’t wait for the program to finish. Another thing that I noticed was the erroneous spelling of my daughter’s name in the Programme Booklet. “Jenelli” turned to be “Janelli”. I immediately checked the certificate of my daughter after receiving it for the fear that it’s also being spelled as Janelli. Good thing her name was spelled correctly in the certificate.
By the way, my daughter was awarded a certificate for being an “Outstanding Member of the Filipino Club”. Wish there will be more awards for next school year LOL …
